About Koichi
Hello!
Having worked with students of all ages, I truly believe that the keys to learning are essentially the same throughout our lives.
So much of our motivation for learning tends to be deadlines, standardized tests, college applications, report cards etc--there's really no way around that.
I want to help you face those challenges, but it's just as important to me that we find your own internal motivation to keep growing and improving.
Personally, my passions include Math, Physics, History, Comparative Religion and Art/Music.

I am a firm believer in an active, interdisciplinary approach to teaching and that learning should be fun!
I don't expect my students to find Math or History or Grammar as fascinating as I do, but everyone has their strengths and passions. And though we often have to tackle tasks or topics that do not inspire us, we should not have to approach them with dread, nor without the practical skills to get. work. done. when necessary.
My predominant experience is with children ages 4-12 in a Montessori or Sunday school setting, but I have also tutored high school and college age students in select topics.
