About Lena
I am a Spanish tutor with 3+ years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics with Actuarial Science. My passion is helping heritage speakers strengthen their Spanish and embrace their cultural identity. Many of my students want to move beyond casual conversation into stronger grammar and writing. I provide structured lessons that expand vocabulary and sharpen academic language skills. My focus is not only on mechanics but also on meaningful expression. I bring cultural perspectives from across the Spanish-speaking world into my lessons to make learning authentic and engaging. I know the journey of heritage speakers is unique and deeply personal. That’s why I teach with sensitivity, always acknowledging the role of identity in language learning. My goal is to give students confidence in their voice, both at home and in professional settings. I design lessons that balance rigor and encouragement. Students learn to value their heritage and see bilingualism as a strength. With patience and structure, I help them achieve fluency they can feel proud of. Spanish is part of who you are, and I encourage every heritage speaker to embrace it fully with confidence.

Spanish is more than words—it is music, dance, festivals, and community. In my lessons, I use storytelling, rhythm, and cultural traditions to make the language come alive. Students learn through song lyric analysis, rhythm and meter in language, and rich vocabulary tied to celebrations. We explore the cultural importance of festivals, making each lesson both educational and joyful. I design interactive sessions with audio clips, cultural videos, and lively discussions. This keeps learning immersive and exciting. I give thoughtful support to learners who want to improve communication and feel comfortable in every situation. My goal is to help them progress quickly while enjoying the process. They gain not only vocabulary but also cultural insight, which makes conversations authentic. I encourage every student to see Spanish as a tool for connection, not just a subject. Lessons are vibrant, engaging, and memorable. By the end of each class, students feel both inspired and more confident. Spanish becomes a part of their daily life, not just something they practice once a week.
