About Imaan
I am a dedicated sophomore university student majoring in Health and Society at the University of Texas at Austin. I have always had a passion for tutoring and mentorship and have enjoyed helping my peers excel and improve in their problem subjects. - I typically start by getting my student to tell me what they already know about the concepts that they struggle with. From there, I know how I can help fill in the gaps. I like to do this in advance for every session so I can have the information free in my head.
- In the interest of not wasting my student's time, I almost exclusively focus on what they don't understand. This also means it is up to my student to effectively communicate with me on what they are struggling with. I cannot help if a student simply says "I don't get any of this."
-As for my experience, my teaching and mentoring abilities come from my time as a volunteer teacher's assistant for religious education classes at my local religious center. For three years, I participated in the implementation of lesson plans and review sessions for students.
- The lessons are primarily for freshman college students just starting in their STEM journey as well as AP high school students that are taking similar coursework.
