About Arun
I am a Machine Learning Engineer with a BA in Economics and an MSc in Computer Science, based in London. My academic and professional journey has been centred around problem solving, analytical thinking, and applying mathematical and technical concepts to real world challenges.
Alongside my work, I have always enjoyed helping others understand difficult material. Throughout my studies and career, I have regularly supported peers and colleagues in breaking down complex topics, whether in mathematics, statistics, or programming. I find it genuinely rewarding to see someone go from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to confident and capable.
My motivation for tutoring comes from this experience. I know first hand how challenging STEM subjects can feel without the right guidance, and how much of a difference clear explanation and structured support can make. I want to provide students with the kind of clarity and confidence that allows them not only to improve academically, but to feel more in control of their learning.
I take a professional and reliable approach to tutoring. I am organised, patient, and committed to helping each student reach their full potential. With my background in both Economics and Computer Science, as well as my experience working in a highly technical role, I bring both strong subject knowledge and a practical perspective to my teaching.
Ultimately, my goal is to support students in building confidence, improving performance, and developing a genuine understanding of the subjects they are studying.

I am a dedicated and adaptable tutor with a BA in Economics and an MSc in Computer Science, offering support across a wide range of STEM subjects. I specialise in helping students not only understand difficult concepts, but also apply them confidently in exams.
My approach to tutoring is structured, clear, and tailored to each student. I begin by identifying gaps in understanding and then break complex topics down into simple, logical steps. I focus on building strong fundamentals first, before moving on to exam technique and problem solving. I encourage students to actively engage by asking questions, working through problems together, and explaining concepts back to me to reinforce their learning.
In terms of teaching methodology, I combine:
- Step by step explanations of key concepts
- Worked examples to demonstrate application
- Guided practice with increasing independence
- Exam focused strategies, including past paper walkthroughs and time management techniques
A typical lesson lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. Sessions are flexible and can be adjusted to focus on specific topics, revision, or full exam preparation.
