About Daniel
Hi there!
My name is Danny and my day job is a Nature Reserve Warden and Ecologist on the North-eastern Scottish coast. Part of my day-to-day work is engaging with the public and educating them about the importance of conserving the natural world around us. This blends perfectly with my other passion, which is tutoring Biological Sciences, Geographical Sciences, Geological Sciences, Environmental Science and Maths (KS3). I have two science degrees: an MSc in Ecology and Conservation and a BSc Hons in Environmental Science, both of which give me a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of Natural Sciences. I believe that teaching you, the next generation, about the importance of environmental conservation is essential in safeguarding the future of our planet.

I prefer to teach one-to-one because I believe that the student (you) will gain the most out of that. My teaching stye includes a combination of: interactive learning, quick re-cap quizzes, more formal conversation and discussion, going through past exam papers and reviewing the relevant learning syllabus for the examining body, that your school or college requires. But I am happy to tailor to your own specific requirements and teach in a learning stye which best suits you. My goal is to teach the student all the necessary skills to reach their full potential on a specific subject. I am qualified to teach GCSEs, Scottish National 5s, A-Levels and Scottish Highers in Biology, Geography and Geology, and also Mathematics to Key Stage 3 level.
For students who need specific help with exams, I will happily sit through past papers with them and individually scrutinise each question, asking you to think about the following criteria: number of marks, number of questions within the overall question and what subject matter is covered. By working together on exam-style questions, we can boost your confidence with the subject material. Then, once you are happy to take the next step, I will ask you to test yourself on past papers and will give you detailed written and conversational feedback. I look forward to our first lesson together.
