  • 1. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I developed an interest in music at a very young age. I started learning classical music at the age of 5. At that time, I was too young to fully understand the intricacies of music; I was simply learning because my parents had arranged for a home tutor. However, my passion for music truly began to grow during my school days. I remember when my friends asked me to sing, and I felt an immense sense of pride when I performed in front of them and received praise.

As I continued to explore music, I began participating in various music competitions in my city, where I won several medals and trophies. These experiences further fueled my passion. Alongside classical music, I developed a strong desire to learn the guitar. I took the initiative to learn it through YouTube tutorials, and today, I am able to play rhythm guitar well and sing along.

In addition to the guitar, I also play several other instruments, including harmonium, tabla, keyboard, dholak, and a bit of bansuri. My journey in music has been an evolving one, and each new skill learned has only deepened my love for this art form.
  • 2. What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My motivation to teach music stemmed from my love for learning new things and sharing that knowledge with others who have similar interests. I've always enjoyed explaining concepts and helping others grasp new ideas. The real push to start teaching came when I discovered the Superprof platform. I learned that it was possible to teach both online and offline simply by creating a profile on the app, where people could reach out to you for lessons. The idea of connecting with students and guiding them through their learning process excited me, and I was eager to give it a try.
  • 3. How does your work help society?

My work contributes to society by providing music education, which is increasingly important in today's fast-paced world. Many people struggle to find time for themselves or to pursue their interests. Through teaching music, I offer individuals an opportunity to connect with their passions and foster personal growth. I believe that teaching is one of the most impactful ways to help society improve and develop, as it not only nurtures skills but also enhances creativity and emotional well-being.
  • 4. If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

I consider legendary singers like Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, and Lata Mangeshkar as my role models. I have grown up listening to their music, and each of them has had a significant impact on my understanding of music and singing. I try to learn something unique from each of these legends, whether it's their vocal techniques, emotional depth, or ability to connect with audiences. Their dedication to the craft and their timeless contributions to music inspire me to continue improving and growing as an artist and teacher.
  • 5. Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I have a deep passion for singing and playing various musical instruments, which allows me to express myself creatively. Traveling to new places and meeting different people excites me, as it gives me the opportunity to explore diverse cultures and perspectives. I also enjoy trying different cuisines, as food is an integral part of experiencing new cultures.
  • 6. Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

During my childhood, I participated in a music competition where my parents had registered me for the folk singing category. However, at that time, I wasn't familiar with any folk songs. Seeing my dilemma, my mother taught me a folk song that she used to sing during her school days. With her guidance, I learned the song in just one day and performed it on the harmonium, accompanied by a tabla sangat. To my delight, I secured second place in the competition. This experience not only deepened my love for music but also taught me the importance of quick learning and adaptability.
