About Charles
I have studying music for over 10 years. Theory has always been at the heart of what I do; I believe that it is essential to understand every other aspect of music, whether that be with the intention of following music performance as a career, composing and arranging music or studying music as a subject, nothing will help anyone more than an understand of music theory.
I have been teaching music performance, theory and composition for 3 years and I thoroughly enjoy doing so.
I obtained an A* in A level music in two years ago. Since then I took a gap year, building a career of music before going to study History and Politics in Brighton keeping my music career going part time.

To emphasise consistency, I always begin a lesson with a brief recap of the previous.
When explaining musical concepts, I always use examples from songs and pieces. When possible, I use students' own favourite music tastes to demonstrate so.
Visual representation is also very important and I also demonstrate concepts on paper, manuscript paper or music writing software when necessary or carrying out virtual lessons.

Charles is a great teacher. I have helped him out with a youth band that he leads. He has great rapport with the students and always makes the subject relevant to them.
His ability in maths is outstanding too.Charlie is a really great tutor. He’ll talk through anything you find difficult, calmly and intelligently. I couldn’t recommend him enough, he made me enjoy my subject because of his great attitude and thoughtfulness during tuition.
