About Alex

I am a recent music graduate from Trinity College, Cambridge, specialising in piano, guitar, and music theory. I have plenty of experience teaching, having spent summers teaching English in summer camps in Spain, as well as music theory and piano to students of varying levels. I also speak and teach Spanish, and sang bass in an accomplished choir in university.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is centred around the students ability and goals, as everyone learns at a different pace and requires a tailored approach. I base a lot of my teaching on observing what my mother, who is a highly-qualified language teacher, would do in her classes whilst working with her, and from following what my various international piano teachers would do with me. My main focus is on breaking down tough concepts and finding fun and creative ways to solve these problems.

I have known Alex for a few years now and he has been absolutely brilliant at teaching me music theory and piano skills. He’s extremely patient and his understanding of the subject is remarkable meaning lessons have always felt easy and enjoyable. He always adapted to my needs and guided me carefully through the learning process making sure I understood every concept he introduced. I couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone who wishes to learn or improve their music & piano skills.
