About Max
Hey there! I am 20 years old and currently a BFA Musical Theater major. I graduated from a boarding arts high school on a farm in Vermont, unique I know. My two biggest passions in life are music and animal care, fittingly explaining my major and my current vet training. I am a transgender male, I was born female and now with the help of testosterone therapy identify as male. Because of this I trained as a female singer for the first 16 years of my life and then had to learn how to use a brand new male voice, which was tough, but it gives me the opportunity to tutor both young girls and boys in voice because I have experience with both a male and female voice! I have been singing and doing musical theater since fourth grade and have sung in many choirs, coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life was I was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in 2019! That really solidified my love and drive for music. (I am also CPR and First Aid certified!)

I’m looking to help tutor or teach younger kids to help them learn the ins and outs of music, whether that be instrumental, voice, or theory. The lessons I am looking to teach at the moment are relatively beginner level, more to ages 6-13, but I have also worked with many teens and some adults. I tend to match the incoming level and demeanor of who I’m tutoring, example, if someone is a beginner with music theory and very outgoing and bubbly then I’ll match their high energy as that tends to help folks learn, but if they’re more subdued or laid back then I’ll reign in it to make sure they are comfortable. I can work in person or over Zoom, with a very flexible schedule!
