About Simon
I have over 7 years of experience teaching Guitar to college students, and I’m passionate about helping students discover the joy of music. My teaching style is inspiring, patient, and personalised, focusing on both technical skills and creative expression.
I combine practical exercises with learning popular songs, improvisation, and composition. Music theory is explained simply, so students can immediately apply it while playing. I also use modern tools like backing tracks, recording exercises, and interactive apps to make practice fun and effective.
Over the past 7 years, I’ve helped students improve their technique, rhythm, and confidence. My goal is to make every lesson enjoyable, productive, and tailored to each student’s goals, helping them develop their own unique musical voice.

My guitar teaching methodology is built on creativity, mentorship, critical thinking, and accountability. I focus on helping students enjoy learning while developing technical skills and musical understanding. I encourage exploration of different genres, chord progressions, and original compositions to nurture creativity.
As a mentor, I guide students patiently, provide personalised feedback, and help them gain confidence. Critical thinking is emphasised through analysing music, applying theory in practical ways, and solving challenges independently.
Accountability ensures consistent progress. We set achievable goals, track milestones, and celebrate improvements. Lessons combine practice, exercises, and creative projects to make learning dynamic and engaging.
Alongside guitar, I also teach music theory, improvisation, and composition. My goal is to nurture confident, creative, and self-reliant musicians who can express themselves fully through music while enjoying the learning journey.
