About Emily
I train for ballet at a world class level and am also an academic! This year I am majoring in Environmental and Agricultural sciences, at one of the top universities in the world, and on my way to medical school! I have tutored my whole life. Through out elementary school I helped my brother, who has special needs, with vocab, math equations, and essay editing. In middle school I conducted math tutoring sessions before school; Subjects ranged from simple 6th grade math to high school algebra. In high school I have taken up to AP Calculus (received a 5 on my AP test) and tutor for all levels. I also have the ability to tutor for AP/IB Biology and Environmental Sciences and chemistry and physics. I took all of those classes in honors and or AP/IB form and am taking higher levels of them this year at McGill University. In addition to this, I can help with SAT/ACT prep. I went through that whole process last year and got help from a tutor myself, so I have a lot of knowledge that I can pass on. I am a very experienced tutor and would love to meet you!

My teaching approach is very individualized. I like to get an idea of how a student learns and then tailor my approach. I have tutored kids that get things quickly and just need a review, so my lessons are more fast paced; I have tutored kids that need more time and reinforcement on material, so I break each step down and then ask them to do the same; And I’ve also tutored kids with special needs that are very challenging to deal with and that takes a lot of patience.
