About Jason
I have experience both learning and teaching math and science. I have learned that while these topics can be exceedingly difficult, there are valuable strategies that can be taken to tackle them. Above all, practice and fundamental understanding of topics are key.
I am currently working on my degree in Civil Engineering. University was the first time I found myself particularly challenged by course material and I had to learn how to adequately adapt to new material. This often involved being tutored by peers or teachers during office hours. It has become clear to me that being taught (directly) by others is one of the best things one can do to improve results in a given academic field.
As a tutor I will do my absolute best to inspire academic confidence by giving you the tools I have used to succeed.

I believe that the best approach to a problem is understanding (which is easier said than done). Math is a very structured discipline that requires deep level of intuition and pattern recognition. For any problem, it is best to first ask "what am I looking at" and then "what tools do I have/know to solve it". This is often the hardest part of Math and I hope to help you make these connections naturally as it will help you not just to score better grades, but how to think at a fundamental level.
These lessons are for high school students and first year University students.
A lesson will adapt to what you would like to learn about or focus on at that particular time.
