I have worked in the Interpreting community for8 years, developing my skills and being very acquainted with theDeaf community.
I have a well rounded understanding of this field. I have also taught students who wish to become interpreters so I am very comfortable working with beginner level students all the way up to expert level. I am a very personable person and you will find out very quickly you can open up to me. I remember and will never being in your shoes. My job is to ensure this process is a smooth and not as scary as you make it.
My philosophy is that we must educate everyone, not only for greater communication access between Deaf and Hard of Hearing, but also to create well rounded, professional Interpreters. Interpreters that will be around long after us, working interpreters, retire.
The fate of the bridge between the hearing and the deaf world is put on our shoulders and we can’t let them down.
