About Maya
I am a Biomedicine graduate currently completing a Master’s degree in Cardiovascular Science at UCL, with both academic and clinical experience. Through my studies and hands-on work in healthcare settings, I have developed a strong understanding of complex scientific concepts and how to explain them clearly.
I am passionate about teaching because I enjoy helping students build confidence and truly understand their subjects, rather than just memorising content. I take the time to listen to each student’s needs and adapt my teaching style to suit them, ensuring lessons are personalised and effective.
I am committed to following the curriculum provided and supporting students in achieving their academic goals, whether that’s improving understanding, preparing for exams, or boosting confidence. My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.

My approach to tutoring is simple, flexible, and completely tailored to each student. I take the time to listen to what you need, understand your goals, and adapt my teaching style to suit how you learn best. Every lesson is personalised, so you feel comfortable, supported, and able to improve at your own pace.
I follow the curriculum or exam board you are studying, and I focus on making even complex topics easy to understand. I usually teach using clear, structured slides so you can follow along easily, but I’m always happy to adapt if you prefer a different style.
Lessons are typically 1 hour, but I’m happy to extend up to 2 hours if needed. I teach students from primary school up to A-Level, including more challenging areas like biology, chemistry, and advanced topics.
I have an MSc in Cardiovascular Science and a background in Biomedicine, with experience explaining complex scientific concepts in a clear and relatable way. My teaching always adapts to the student, because everyone learns differently.
