Hi! My name is Tess Riley, and I am a second-year student pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Over the past year and a half, I have gained valuable experience as a tutor, honing my skills in a diverse range of subjects including ACT preparation, Precalculus, Physics, and Calculus. My teaching approach is highly personalized and tailored to the needs of each individual student. At the beginning of each lesson, I always inquire if there are any specific topics or concepts that the student would like to review. If not, I proceed by introducing the topic at hand and providing a comprehensive overview. To further reinforce their understanding, I engage the student in a series of relevant and challenging practice problems. I'm Olivia's roommate, and she's helped me a lot with my chemistry and statistics classes! I'm a humanities major, so these classes are super out of my element. She was willing to sit down with me and walk me through problems in an easy-to-understand way even though math and science aren't my best subjects at all. I did great on my midterms and I think Olivia helped a lot with it!! She is very helpful and passionate about teaching others.
