About Amrit
I have lived and studied in Okayama, Japan, as an exchange student for 3 months. I am currently studying the Bachelor of Arts Majoring in Japanese and Applied Linguistics at the University of South Australia. I was awarded the Dunstan Award for Excellence in Language and Culture on two different occasions (Year 10 and Stage 2).
Due to my proficiency in the language, I was asked to teach Japanese classes
during breaks as a teacher’s aide.
I entered and won the 2019
Japanese speech competition for the state of South Australia and
represented SA in the National Finals in Sydney, where I came 1st in Australia.

I want to teach individuals who are genuinely interested in language
and culture. Whilst writing and grammar are essential, my main
focus would be to cultivate the conversational abilities of my
students. Everything from everyday life to occupation-specific
scenarios, I intend to prepare my students to feel confident and
proficient in their speaking abilities. This being said, I am also happy
to tutor high school students going through SACE, providing support
in all areas.
