I focus on real-life communication skills such as speaking and listening for students of all levels. I encourage students to engage in meaningful conversations, role-plays, and interactive activities to practice language.
If students are interested, I explore cultural topics such as music, literature, food, festivals, and traditions.
I incorporate interactive activities such as games, and quizzes to make the class for funny and interesting.
A typical lesson plan:
* Portuguese Introducing and greeting
* Display key daily phrases and vocabulary
* Review pronunciation and practice saying the phrase
* Conduct role-playing exercises
* Use flashcards with images or scenarios to prompt conversations.
* Encourage natural language use
* Cultural exploration: Discuss cultural customs and etiquette related to greetings in Brazil.
* Writing practice
What I set apart as a tutor is:
1) I hold a Bachelor's in Brazilian Portuguese Linguistics and Literature from São Paulo State University.
2) I personalize the class according to the needs of the students
3) I help students develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of Brazilian culture (if they have an interest in that)
4) I incorporate real-life scenarios to make learning enjoyable and meaningful
5) I am flexible in my teaching approach to accommodate diverse learning styles, preferences, and the student pace.
