About Sally
Hello! I grew up in the vibrant city of Shanghai for 15 years and moved to the US at 16. As a native Chinese speaker and a Master's student in HCI, I bring creativity, logic, and empathy into my language lessons.
I am a very curious person with a deep love for ACG culture and video games (The Legend of Zelda series are my favorite!). When I'm not designing, you can find me drawing, doing photography, or trying out new baking and cooking recipes at home with my pet dog and cat by my side. Because of my cross-cultural background and varied hobbies, we can talk about anything—from modern Chinese pop culture and gaming to delicious food and everyday life.

My primary goal is to get you speaking Mandarin confidently from day one! My lessons are specially designed for beginners and intermediate learners who want to focus on real-world conversations, accurate pronunciation, and fascinating Chinese culture.
A standard lesson with me starts with a casual chat to review past material. Then, we dive into a new, practical topic using everyday dialogues, visual aids, and cultural stories to help you understand the context. We always wrap up with a fun challenge for next time.
