About Yichun
I am currently an undergraduate student at the National University of Singapore (NUS), studying Electrical Engineering. I was born and raised in China. After graduation from Chinese middle school, I moved to Singapore for Sec school and JC under SM1 Scholarship, which gave me experience in both Chinese and international learning environments. I have obtained A1 for both Chinese and Higher Chinese in Sec School.
Mandarin Chinese is my native language, and I am also fluent in English, allowing me to communicate comfortably with students from different backgrounds. I enjoy helping others learn languages in a patient and encouraging way, especially by making lessons practical and easy to understand.
As someone who has personally experienced adapting between cultures and languages, I understand the challenges students may face when learning Chinese, and I hope to make the process more approachable and enjoyable.

My lessons are designed to be practical, interactive, and beginner-friendly. As a native Mandarin speaker who grew up in China and later studied in Singapore, I understand both Chinese and English learning environments, which helps me explain Mandarin clearly to English-speaking students.
I focus on helping students build confidence in real-life communication rather than simply memorizing vocabulary. I can also support students preparing for O-Level Chinese and Higher Chinese, including both oral and writing components. Having personally taken these examinations, I consistently performed strongly in both written papers and oral assessments throughout school.
In addition, I was awarded the Excellence Award in the 2020 Nanyang Chinese Literature Youth Competition (南洋华文青少年文学奖比赛) and the Best Reflection Award for Lian Shisheng Literary Works (连士生作家文学作品读后感最佳作品奖), which further strengthened my interest in Chinese language and writing.
My classes are suitable for beginners, international students, and anyone looking to improve their Mandarin in a supportive and relaxed learning environment.

Details
Detailed lesson plans can be discussed based on each student’s learning goals and current level. Online lessons are charged at SGD 15 per hour.
Outside lesson hours, I am also happy to provide additional support for students’ homework, oral practice, school assignments, or even Chinese writing competitions through Telegram, WhatsApp, or WeChat (faster replies are usually available on WeChat).
