About Sara
Hi, I’m Sara, born and raised in Arcadia, California. I hold a B.S. in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry from San Diego State University. I have 3 years of experience working in Research & Development for a Biotech company and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Cosmetic & Fragrance Chemistry in France, where I continue to expand my knowledge and love for science. I’m passionate about learning and teaching, which is why I’ve been tutoring for over 3 years. I believe every student learns differently, and I’m committed to adapting my teaching style to help each student succeed. Whether it’s Chemistry, Math, or Spanish, I aim to make each lesson engaging and tailored to the individual. Outside of academics, I love traveling, painting, hiking, and skiing.

Teaching Method & Approach: I cater my lessons to each student’s unique learning style, as I firmly believe everyone learns differently. I’m patient, approachable, and passionate about breaking down complex material in a way that makes it easy to understand. I love keeping students engaged and make sure they feel comfortable asking questions—no question is too small or "stupid." I focus on building a strong understanding by using practice problems, especially for Math and Chemistry, and I always ensure my students know why they're doing what they’re doing, not just how. Typical Lesson Plan: I start by assessing what the student understands and where they’re struggling. Then, I explain any concepts they don’t fully grasp, ensuring clarity. Finally, I focus on practice problems to reinforce the material and give the student hands-on experience. For Math and Chemistry, I guide them step-by-step and make sure they understand the process. For Spanish, I aim to speak only in Spanish during lessons to immerse the student in the language and help them feel more comfortable and confident using it. What Sets Me Apart: My patience and ability to simplify difficult concepts set me apart. I’m deeply committed to ensuring my students not only succeed but also feel confident and engaged throughout the learning process.
