  • 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak Persian because I was born and raised in Iran and I also had all my Academic studies in Iran. That is why I am fluent in Persian. (Persian and Farsi is the name of the same language)
  • 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

Since ancient times, Iran has been the birthplace of great scientists, engineers, architects, and physicians such as Artakhe and Bubranda (architectural and road construction engineers during the Achaemenid era), Sheikh Al-Raees Abu Ali Sina (philosopher and mathematician, geologist, physicist, and Iranian physician), Abu Bakr Zakaria Razi (physicist, chemist, and Iranian physician), Hakim Omar Khayyam Neyshaburi (astronomer, mathematician, and poet), Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Musa Al-Khwarizmi (Iranian mathematician, astronomer, and geographer), Abu Raihan Biruni (Iranian mathematician, geologist, and geographer), as well as great poets such as Rudaki Samarqandi, Hakim Abul-Qasim Ferdowsi, Sheikh Mosleh al-Din Saadi Shirazi, Lisan al-Ghayb Hafez Shirazi, and Maulana Jalal al-Din Muhammad Balkhi, and great writers such as Ali Akbar Dehkhoda (author of the Dehkhoda Dictionary) and Dr. Muhammad Moin (author of the Moin Dictionary), and many other poets and writers who Each of them can be a worthy and symbolic representative of Persian culture, language, and literature.
  • 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

Persian is a traditional and historical language with a rich literature, and I love every aspect of it.
  • 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Persian/Farsi is our national and traditional language and I try to do my best to spread this beautiful language around the world.
  • 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

Perhaps the most difficult part of learning Persian is the difficult spelling of some words, which you can master their spelling with more practice.
  • 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

The teacher should act in a way that involves all or most of the students in a class with their activities. Instead of just asking questions and having the students answer the teacher, it is better for the teacher to design the questions and answers as a game, encouraging the students to ask questions from other students, and this question and answer continues until the best student in a group of five is determined, and then the best score is awarded to the student who has managed to answer more questions from other students than the other members of the group.
  • 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

    My Journey of Discovery
The Story of My Telephone Journey to an English-Speaking Country
The Ability to Communicate with Foreign Learners
The Story of My First Contact with an English-Speaking Foreigner via Home Phone
It was early April 2004, about 21 years ago, that a random idea came to my mind!
I thought to myself that I have been studying English for about 15 years now at a teacher training university in Iran and have been teaching English to students in Iran for 13 years. I wondered if I would be able to speak to English speakers and communicate with them if I actually encountered English speakers!
As a result of this idea, one day I decided to randomly call the phone numbers of some people in English-speaking countries from my home phone. Since I didn't know any foreigners or English speakers at that time, and I didn't have the phone numbers of any English speakers. I decided to try calling random numbers after getting the area codes of some English-speaking countries.
As far as I remember, my random calls to England and America were unsuccessful, and in the third step I tried the English-speaking country of South Africa. And finally, after dialing a few unsuccessful numbers, I suddenly saw that the first call was successful and a man answered on the other end of the line!
And I started calling in English to the person who I was calling from a foreign country across the seas and I didn't mean to bother him and I just wanted to try to see if I could communicate with English-speaking people or not?!
But apparently the man didn't have the patience for such a thing and hung up on me.
But anyway, I had already learned how to call other people's homes randomly and just by changing a number, and on the second call, a woman answered and said that unfortunately I didn't have time to do such a thing and maybe those people couldn't trust me and gave such answers. Anyway, I called the next person and an elderly lady named Valerie answered and unlike the others, she was completely open-minded and said that I was on a pleasure trip right now and I had enough time to talk to you. Yes, that was how my first conversation with an English person abroad took place and our first conversation apparently lasted more than 45 minutes.
Valerie Newport was from Durban, South Africa, and we had a telephone relationship for many years, and Valerie assured me that I was fully capable of communicating with English-speaking people and talking to them. And in the following years, with the expansion of the Internet in Iran, our telephone relationships turned into email, WhatsApp, and Skype relationships, and it fully prepared me for teaching in cyberspace.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in language?

My long experience in teaching in public schools as well as in teaching in virtual space on platforms such as Perplay and Superprof, etc., has provided me with great advantages and privilege to be a completely successful teacher for teaching in Superprof.
