About Alexia
Hello, my name is Lauraine, and I’m a student at the University of Johannesburg.
I’ve been a French and English tutor for two years.
I’m a native French speaker who’s originally from Cameroon, and enjoy teaching people the language I’ve spoken all my life.
I believe that learning languages can also be fun and doesn’t have to be boring.
After all, the best way to learn is to have fun.

My lessons can be divided into three parts:
1. Introductions, goal setting, and academic plan.
• Building a tutor-student relationship based on trust and mutual respect to allow for a comfortable learning atmosphere
• Understanding what the student’s goals are to know what to focus on
• Make a plan based on the student’s goals to ensure a smooth learning experience.
2. Following the academic plan and observing (and noting) progress.
3. Assessing the student and making sure the study guide is being followed, and the goals are being met.
*each student has a different needs, hence why the first step is crucial to allow for effective learning.
