About Rose
Hi! I’m Rose, a finance professional by day and a passionate Chinese language tutor in my spare time, with over 3 years of tutoring experience. I originally moved to the UK from my hometown of Shanghai in 2014, and having spent over a decade here, I understand both languages and cultures from a very personal perspective. I’m deeply passionate about sharing not just the Chinese language, but also the cultural context behind it - helping you understand how Chinese is actually used in real life. Each lesson is tailored to your individual goals, level, and learning style, but a typical session will include a mix of speaking, listening, and practical language use to help you build real confidence. For beginners, we focus on building a strong foundation - including pronunciation (pinyin and tones), essential vocabulary, and simple sentence structures to get you speaking from the very start. For intermediate and advanced learners, lessons are more conversation-focused, helping you expand vocabulary, improve fluency, and sound more natural. We may also work on reading, writing, or specific goals such as business Chinese or exam preparation (e.g. HSK), depending on your needs. I like to keep lessons interactive and relaxed, while still structured and results-driven. We’ll use real-life scenarios, cultural context, and practical examples so you can apply what you learn immediately outside of lessons.
