About Yilinglu
Hello, I’m Yiling, a native Mandarin speaker currently living in Canada. I have a standard accent and solid Chinese language foundation. I have lived in Shandong, Beijing, Shanghai, and Xinjiang, and traveled widely across China, so I have a deep understanding of Chinese history, local culture, customs, and daily life.
I started learning English from scratch at the age of 48, so I fully understand the challenges and feelings of language learners. I am very patient, friendly, and good at communicating with students at all levels. I have rich one-on-one language tutoring experience, and I can teach in a relaxed, practical, and interesting way.
I can use simple English to explain Chinese vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar clearly, making it easier for you to learn and communicate confidently. My teaching is tailored to each student’s level and goals, focusing on real-life conversation and practical usage.
Learning with me, you will not only improve your Mandarin steadily, but also get to know the real, interesting, and diverse Chinese culture. I always teach carefully with responsibility and sincerity, and I will create a comfortable and pressure-free learning environment for every student.

I am a native Mandarin speaker currently living in Canada, and I am passionate about language and cultural exchange. I started learning English later in life, so I truly understand the challenges, frustrations, and rewards of learning a new language. This experience helps me teach with patience, empathy, and encouragement.
My lessons are relaxed, practical, and beginner-friendly. I use simple English when needed to help students understand Chinese naturally and confidently, without pressure or complicated grammar explanations. I focus on helping students speak step by step through real conversation, useful daily expressions, pronunciation practice, and cultural understanding.
A typical lesson includes conversational practice, pronunciation correction, vocabulary building, listening exercises, and real-life situational dialogues. I always adapt lessons to each student’s level, interests, and goals, whether for travel, daily communication, work, or cultural interest.
What makes me different is my real-life experience and my understanding of language learning from both a learner’s and a teacher’s perspective. I have lived in several parts of China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xinjiang, and Shandong, and I enjoy sharing authentic Chinese culture, daily life, food, and traditions.
My lessons are suitable for beginners and intermediate learners of all ages who want to learn Chinese in a supportive, relaxed, and natural way.
