About Ying
Hello! My name is Ying, and I’m a passionate native Mandarin teacher with a Top-Level (First Class, Grade A) Mandarin Certificate, which is the highest standard of Mandarin proficiency in China. I’ve been deeply connected to Chinese language and culture from a young age — I consistently ranked first in Chinese literature throughout school and later developed teaching methods that combine accuracy, creativity, and cultural insight. I’ve taught students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners preparing for HSK exams, interviews, or relocation to China. My students describe my lessons as interactive, structured, and inspiring, because I always adapt my approach to each learner’s goals and pace. Before becoming a tutor, I worked in media and content creation, which helps me bring real-life language, storytelling, and cross-cultural understanding into my lessons. I believe language learning should be both practical and enjoyable. In my classes, I focus on real communication — helping students speak Mandarin naturally and confidently, not just memorise grammar rules. I often use stories, short videos, and cultural topics from daily life to make lessons more engaging and meaningful. Each lesson usually lasts 60 minutes, but I can adjust the length based on the student’s needs. I always start by understanding my student’s goals — whether it’s passing the HSK, improving pronunciation, or learning conversational Chinese for travel or work. I’m a native Mandarin speaker with a Top-Level (First Class, Grade A) Mandarin Certificate, the highest standard in China. I’ve been passionate about Chinese language and literature since school, where I consistently ranked at the top of my class. I also have experience teaching both beginners and advanced learners, including children, teenagers, and adults from different cultural backgrounds. My teaching style is warm, patient, and encouraging. I love seeing students grow in confidence and find joy in expressing themselves in Mandarin.
