About Soniya
Hi! I’m Soniya, an international student currently studying in Malaysia — originally from China, and proud to call Mandarin my mother tongue. I’ve always loved connecting with people through language, and teaching Mandarin gives me the chance to share not just words, but culture, stories, and a new way of seeing the world. I’m passionate about many things: sports, music, learning, and helping others grow. As someone who has studied in a multicultural environment, I understand the challenges of learning a new language — and I know how to make it easier, more enjoyable, and a lot less stressful! Teaching Mandarin isn’t just a job for me — it’s something I genuinely enjoy. Whether you’re learning for school, travel, work, or just curiosity, I’ll be here to guide you at your own pace. Before we begin, I take the time to understand your goals, whether it’s conversational fluency, travel vocabulary, passing HSK, or simply building confidence in everyday speaking. I design each lesson around you, not a generic textbook. You’ll get a mix of structured learning (grammar, tones, vocabulary) and real-life applications (dialogues, listening, cultural tips). I also adapt my materials based on your interests — love food, movies, or business? Let’s bring that into your learning! After every class, I’ll share personalized notes, vocabulary lists, and small assignments to reinforce your progress between lessons. I believe in steady improvement through enjoyable, meaningful practice — and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
