About Shuyu
I’m a native Mandarin speaker from China with an academic background in Broadcasting and Hosting, as well as Journalism. I hold a Level 2-A Putonghua Proficiency Certificate and have received professional training in Mandarin pronunciation, speaking and presentation.
I currently teach Mandarin face-to-face to children from Asian and immigrant families in the UK. I really enjoy helping children build confidence in speaking Chinese, especially those who may hear Chinese at home but need more support with pronunciation, Pinyin and everyday conversation.
I believe learning Mandarin should feel natural, encouraging and enjoyable. I’m patient, friendly and happy to adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s age, level and learning goals.

I currently teach Mandarin face-to-face to children from Asian and immigrant families in the UK. My lessons are friendly, interactive and tailored to each learner’s age and level. For younger learners, I use themed vocabulary, pronunciation practice, games and everyday conversations to make Mandarin enjoyable and easier to remember.
I can help with Mandarin pronunciation, Pinyin, speaking, listening, everyday conversation and Chinese vocabulary, whether your child is a complete beginner or already speaks some Chinese at home.
