About Maria
Hi! I'm a trilingual Colombian student pursuing a degree in biochemistry at the University of Washington in Seattle.
I have had the opportunity to tutor students at my school pursuing different levels of Spanish and participating and organizing diverse cultural events to understand the language better. I am passionate about teaching and learning languages and want to create a safe space for people to learn and create connections where they also have the opportunity to learn about their history and cultural background.

Learning a language should be a fun and pleasant experience for everybody since it's a way to meet new people, understand a different perspective, and expand your worldview.
I like to take a didactic approach combined with the use of support materials for students to practice using the language in different contexts so that students can analyze the grammar through practice, trial, and error. Furthermore, I customize my lessons based on the person and their goals so that everyone gets to have a study method adapted to their needs. Overall, I really want to make sure students get to enjoy learning and using a new language.
