About Martha
Hola! I was born in Mexico City and I worked as a preschool-elementary bilingual teacher. While I worked as a teacher, I went to UNAM (National University of Mexico) and studied English Literature with a major in Translation. I moved to Canada in 2000 and after 25 years in this wonderful country, I am blessed to still work as an elementary school teacher. For the past few years, I have been doing some translations in different subjects: history, psychology, geography, and just general topics. Now I am looking to teach people who would like to expand their knowledge in this wonderful language that is Spanish.

My classes are totally in Spanish from the beginning to the end. I like to start with small conversation about how the day or days have been, giving the student a chance to express in the best possible way in Spanish. Depending on which level we are in, I proceed to ask questions about what he/she might need help with, and if it is necessary to give homework, we can go over it. At the end, I ask if there is anything they would like to know for the next session. My students are usually beginners and middle level. They already know the basics and they just want to speak more because they will travel to a Spanish-speaking country and they want to carry a simple conversation and get around places.
