About Alan
I'm Alan, originally from Argentina, and I've spent years living, working, and traveling across multiple countries — which is exactly why I teach Spanish the way I do. Before becoming a tutor, I worked in hospitality and guest services at upscale properties, most recently in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where I spoke Spanish, English, and Portuguese every day with guests and colleagues from all over the world.
That experience taught me something textbooks don't: language is a tool for real connection, not a subject to memorize. Whether I was helping a guest find their way around, solving a problem at the front desk, or just having a genuine conversation, I learned to communicate clearly, warmly, and adapt to whoever I was talking to — and that's exactly the skill I bring into my lessons.
I've traveled extensively across several continents, so I understand what it's like to navigate a new language and culture as an outsider — the nerves, the small wins, the moments where a phrase finally clicks. I want my students to feel that progress from the very first lesson.
Outside of teaching, I'm passionate about coffee, sports, and connecting with people from different backgrounds — which is probably obvious by now!

My Teaching Approach
I believe the fastest way to learn a language is to actually use it — not to memorize grammar tables. My lessons are built around real conversation from day one, even with complete beginners. We talk about your trip, your job, your daily life, and I correct and guide you naturally as we go, the same way you'd pick up phrases living in a Spanish-speaking country.
Methodology & Techniques
I use a communicative approach: role-play (ordering at a restaurant, checking into a hotel, asking for directions, small talk with locals), practical vocabulary building around real situations, and gentle, real-time correction so mistakes become learning moments instead of a red pen on a page. I bring in my own experience working in hospitality and guest services across multiple countries, so the Spanish you learn is the Spanish people actually speak — not textbook Spanish.
A Typical Lesson
We start with 5 minutes of free conversation to warm up and see what's fresh in your mind. Then we work through a practical scenario relevant to your goals (traveling, workplace Spanish, casual conversation), introducing new vocabulary and structures as they come up naturally. We close with a quick recap and I send you a short list of the key phrases and words to review before our next class.
What Sets Me Apart
I'm a native Spanish speaker, but also a Certified Spanish Teacher (ELE- Miguel de Cervantes). But I'm not only teaching from a textbook — Since I am also a full-time traveler I'm teaching what I've actually used to communicate, work, and build relationships in different countries.
