About Fernando
Although I graduated in Law School, my true passion lies on teaching - specially when it comes to the Spanish language. Since one of my parents is Brazilian and the other is Spanish, I grew up speaking both languages inside and outside the house, so both Spanish and Portuguese come naturally to me.
I've been teaching Spanish for 6 years now, either helping my students to reach their needed grade on DELE, improving their reading, writing and listening comprehension as well as their speaking expression and pronunciation.

My teaching method consists on personalising the class around my students' day to day life and interests. This way, I believe that the learning a new language becomes more naturally if the learner can implement it in his or her life. In addition, I always try to go after songs, articles and any sort of entertainment that can help my students to understand better the language and its uses.
As for the classes, my personal experience taught me that the immersive method is more effective than the others. That is to say that during my classes I always try to speak only in Spanish, using English just to explain a new word or a concept. For obvious reasons, this method won’t be applied to students who are at beginner levels.
