About Vankshita
I am a recent graduate from Durham University with a BSc. in Natural Sciences (Physics & Chemistry) and am now applying for postgraduate courses.
I have been tutoring students in Physics, Maths and Chemistry GCSE/A Level for the past several months and thoroughly enjoy it. I am passionate about broadening kids’ understanding of the sciences so they can be enthused whilst also keeping in mind their specific syllabuses. I take a topic and explain it first in the context of the subject and the outer world first, allowing students to understand why we study it. I then guide them through a step by step process of how to tackle various problems. If they are still confused I hope to break it down even further and in the simplest way possible. I do not believe in memorising -- I think any scientific concepts at school can be be understood through a method of basic analysis so that students can tackle any problem they are presented with in an exam. I hope to instil in students a belief in this step-by-step method so they can feel confident about about problem solving.
I know how hard COVID-19 has been on kids' mental health and studies so I want to make them feel comfortable in our lessons -- to try to decrease their stress as much as possible. I know exams are particularly stressful so I will go through exam techniques too so they don't feel as daunting.
