About Kimberly
I am a certified ELA teacher 4 - adult with a Masters in Reading: Secondary- Adult. I have tutored math for many years on the side. I was a transition and career navigator for 3 years and helped adults receive a Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency. I have helped students on the ASVAB and other test requirements in the military. I have also helped students in India with English. I have taught 7th and 8th grade Reading and Writing for 15 years, adult education for 5 years, and tutored math for most of those years. I taught Developmental Reading for 2 years at Cisco College.

I use active, practical teaching methods. I believe in teaching to all learning styles so that everyone gets what he/she needs. I believe that there is not one way to teach or to learn how to do something. I try multiple methods and use Bloom's Taxonomy as a main guide for ultimate cognition level goals. I believe that everyone is capable of learning if given the right tools to do so.

Details
There is a cancellation fee of $10 per scheduled hour. I would like to receive payment through Paypal in advance of scheduled sessions. Refund of $7 per scheduled hour will be given through Paypal for a cancellation. If I cancel a session, I will refund the full $17. The amount of $17 is for the average student. If a student is in need of more in depth sessions, I will discuss that at that time if there needs to be a fee adjustment. I do not expect this to happen often. I have had great success with students whom I tutor and in my classroom.
