About Alex
"My journey in the healthcare field began at the young age of 18 when I became an EMT. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for emergency medicine. Following my heart, I pursued further education at Stanford's Paramedic program and dedicated three years to serving the community in Oakland, California.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge and growth, I later returned to school to become a Registered Nurse. Throughout my career as an RN, I gained valuable experience in various high-pressure environments such as the ICU, ER, and as an advanced practice flight nurse.
With over 30 years of hands-on experience in the healthcare industry & over 60 thousand emergency patient contacts. I eventually took a leap of faith and established my own EMT & Paramedic program, successfully running it for over 14 years. Recently retired, I found myself missing the joy of teaching and sharing knowledge.
Now, eager to reignite my passion for education, I am thrilled to be back in the teaching field, ready to inspire and guide the next generation of healthcare professionals."

I take a student-centered approach to tutoring, taking in the students goals and integrating plans for areas where they want to grow.
Using a common-sense teaching style, I break down complex subject matter into digestible ideas upon which we can build on as my student becomes more fluent in the subject matter. I believe this technique/style is what sets me apart from other teaching styles.
My courses are for the novice as well as the experienced health care professional. Whether it's an EMT student struggling with skills or a seasoned telemetry nurse who would like to prep for ACLS, or a travel nurse looking to prep for EKG testing. I'm ready to work with my students to find the perfect plan to attain success with even the stickiest of subjects
