My main focus is to be really friendly while also being professional, I like my students to feel comfortable and not judged. I am myself someone that had to learn a language from scratch and I can relate to the emotions that one may feel along the language learning journey! I like to make sure that every student feels comfortable doing the learning process, it is important for me that you do not feel rushed nor behind. Learning a language has its respective steps that will lead you to success, I will be guiding you until you feel 100% confident in your speaking, writing, and translating skills in Spanish! At the end of the day it is about having fun!
My mother language is Spanish, I was born in Bogota, Colombia. I have been living in Edmonton for almost 6 years, although I recently moved to Spruce Grove. Speaking Spanish is my passion. I taught one of my closest friends how to fully communicate in Spanish for only 2.5 years. my techniques are based on before any conversational skills, first really understand key vocabulary words and the conjugation of each verb to have a clear understanding before jumping ahead. Once basics are covered, I like to recommend readings, music, tv shows that will help you get familiarized with the vocabulary words. And from there I really start to focus on the speaking component of the learning process, this will make sure that if you know how to speak you can go beyond!
I prefer to teach students from below junior high, junior high, up to high school level. I will be able to answer every question you have if you are in that grade range!
