About Josefin
Hi! I’m Josefin, a professional performer and voice teacher with over 10 years of experience in the music and theater industry. I’m passionate about helping singers of all ages discover their true voice and build the confidence to express themselves with ease, power, and joy. I hold a Master of Arts from Berklee College of Music (NYC), where I specialized in Writing and Design for Musical Theater, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). As a working artist, I bring real-world insight to every lesson — combining strong technical training with creativity and emotional connection. My teaching is grounded in Somatic Voicework and the Vielka Method, and I tailor my approach to each student’s goals, whether you're preparing for an audition, just getting started, or returning to singing after a break. My studio is a supportive, encouraging space where your voice can grow safely and authentically. I work with children, teens, and adults — in-person in NYC or online from anywhere. Let’s take the next step in your vocal journey together!

My passion is helping students discover their authentic voice and artistic expression. With over a decade of professional experience in the music industry and leading roles in musical theatre, I bring both real-world insight and solid vocal technique to every lesson.
I hold a Master of Arts in Creative Media and Technology from Berklee College of Music (NYC), where I specialized in Writing and Design for Musical Theater, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden).
Whether you're a beginner discovering your voice or an advanced singer preparing for auditions, I offer a supportive space to grow, explore, and connect with your unique sound.
My Teaching Method & Techniques
My approach combines:
- Somatic Voicework and the Vielka Method (especially effective for young and developing voices)
- Breath and body awareness
- Vocal exercises tailored to range, tone, stamina, and vocal health
- Song interpretation and emotional connection
We focus on healthy technique first, but always in service of storytelling, artistry, and joy. Every session is customized to your goals and learning style.
A Typical Lesson
A lesson with me often includes:
- Physical and vocal warm-up
- Targeted technical exercises (for breath support, range, agility, etc.)
- Repertoire coaching (song choice, interpretation, phrasing)
- Performance and expression work
- Takeaways or small assignments to support consistent growth
For younger students, lessons are age-appropriate, playful, and engaging, while building real and sustainable technique from the start.
What Sets Me Apart
I’m a working performer and musical theater writer with international stage experience and deep artistic insight.
I specialize in teaching children, teens, and emerging artists, helping them build both skill and self-confidence.
I blend rigorous vocal technique with intuitive, personalized coaching — always in a kind, supportive environment.
My multicultural background and training in Finland, Sweden, and NYC give me a broad, inclusive approach to voice and expression.

- Beginner to advanced singers
- Musical theatre, pop, or general voice development
