About Jeff
I have a bachelor's in linguistics from Northwestern University and a master's in Communication Sciences and Disorders at The University of Texas at Austin. Ever since my traumatic brain injury three years ago, I have been unable to stop thinking about how to teach programming. Boy, is that a long story! My first language was JavaScript, then Python, then shell (zsh/bash/fish/elvish). I've also looked at C# and C++ and C.

I'm knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects. Basically, if you need instruction in any language, I should be able to help you out. It takes me about a few days to a week to become fluent in a new programming language. I'm not some supergenius, by the way- the first language is very challenging, but every language after that is a piece of cake!
Lessons will consist of using the shell (bash, fish, elvish, or zsh) to learn to work with what's on your computer as well. as work on scripts in any language you want (assuming the language is installed on your machine, of course). I tutor students in Python, Javascript, Ruby, Shell, Webdev, and NLP
