About Nick
Hi there!
My name is Nick and I am a master's graduate of the University of Birmingham where I studied Nuclear Engineering. Over the course of my time there, I studied maths, science and engineering at a high level, often collaborating and mentoring other students in the department.
As a hobbyist musician and live sound engineer, I love supporting people in order for them to get the best outcome possible, it feels immensely gratifying seeing progress in an individual. This is certainly something I bring to the table with regards to tutoring so hopefully I can inspire confidence in more aspects than just academic!

I pride myself on having an enthusiastic, patient and friendly teaching style, where I encourage metacognition and scaffolding in order for the student to get to the answer themselves; oftentimes, it is the comprehension of the question that gets in the way!
I'm offering 30 and 60 min lesson slots, with the content of these lessons to be adjusted depending on what the student would like to work on. Past paper work and example questions, re-teaching wherever needed, is certainly something I can provide.
Following my time at University, I worked as a teaching assistant and science technician at a busy secondary school, and also occasionally teach music to friends for fun, therefore I have a sense of what approach to take in different circumstances.
