About Rebeka
I am currently a nursing student in an Accelerated BSN program, working toward my degree while completing clinical rotations at hospitals and treatment centers in the Las Vegas area. Before nursing school, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, which gave me a strong scientific foundation that now supports how I teach pharmacology and disease processes. I also worked as a pharmacy technician and phlebotomist, so I've spent time in real clinical settings well before I ever set foot in a classroom as a nursing student myself.
My current clinical rotation is in psychiatric-mental health nursing, where I work directly with patients under the supervision of licensed professionals. This gives me a grounded, up-to-date understanding of the material — not just what's in the textbook, but how it actually plays out in patient care.
I take tutoring seriously because I remember exactly how overwhelming nursing school can feel. My goal is to help you build genuine understanding and confidence, not just memorize facts for a single exam. My approach as a tutor:
I break Mental Health Nursing down the way I wish it had been taught to me — starting with the "why" behind a diagnosis or medication before memorizing facts. I lean heavily on NCLEX-style practice questions and real case scenarios, because psych nursing is tested on judgment, not just recall. I currently do my clinical rotations at a psychiatric treatment center, so I bring actual patient presentations (safely de-identified) into how I explain concepts like mood disorders, psychosis, and therapeutic communication.
A typical lesson:
We start by identifying where you're actually stuck — a specific disorder, medication class, or question pattern that keeps tripping you up. Then I walk through the underlying pathophysiology or theory in plain language, connect it to a clinical picture so it sticks, and finish with practice questions modeled on exam-style wording so you learn to catch the tricks professors and NCLEX-style exams like to use. I always leave room at the end to go back over anything that's still fuzzy.
What sets me apart:
I'm not just repeating a textbook back to you — I'm currently living this material as a nursing student with hands-on psych clinical experience, so I know exactly which concepts get glossed over in class but hammered on exams. I also have a chemistry background and prior experience as a pharmacy technician and phlebotomist, so I can explain the pharmacology side (why a med works, what to monitor for) with real clinical grounding, not just a drug card.
