About Genises
I understand what it feels like to struggle in school—I wasn’t a perfect student myself. It took time for me to learn how to study effectively and figure out how I learn best. That experience helps me connect with students who may feel frustrated or overwhelmed. I know that learning isn't a straight path for everyone, and that's okay. What I’ve learned over the years is that every student is capable of success if they’re given the right support and have the willingness to try. My goal as a tutor is to make learning both enjoyable and meaningful by connecting lessons to real-life examples and tailoring my approach to each student’s unique needs. I’ve been tutoring since I was 18, and I take my role seriously. I’m patient, dependable, and committed to seeing my students grow in both skill and confidence. Whether your child needs help catching up or wants to stay ahead, I’ll be there every step of the way with encouragement, structure, and a personalized plan.

My Approach as a Tutor and How I Share My Knowledge
1. Teaching Method and Techniques:
My teaching style is hands-on and interactive. I focus on teaching the concept clearly first, then immediately reinforce it by having the student demonstrate their understanding through practice questions. I find that applying the concept right after learning it helps identify misunderstandings early and strengthens retention. I encourage students to talk through their thinking as they solve problems so I can guide them toward clearer reasoning and problem-solving strategies.
2. A Typical Lesson Plan:
Rather than a fixed plan, I take a personalized approach. At the beginning of each session, I assess what the student already understands and where they’re struggling. From there, we focus on the areas they need the most help with, while also reinforcing what they already know to build confidence. I build lessons progressively—each concept connects to the next, so students are always moving forward with a strong foundation.
3. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
What makes me different is that I’m truly dedicated to my students' success. I care deeply about helping them grow, not just academically but in their confidence and independence as learners. I’m patient, approachable, and I celebrate progress, no matter how small, because I believe that motivation plays a big role in learning.

I work with children in Grades 1–10 across a range of subjects, including math, reading, writing, and general study skills. Whether a student needs help catching up, wants to stay ahead, or needs a boost in confidence, I adapt my approach to meet their specific needs and grade level
