About Tan
I teach mathematics at the Secondary and Tertiary Level. I was formerly teaching full time at a tuition center for 2 years, before deciding to teach independently.
Subjects taught: G2/G3 Math, IB Math AAHL/SL and GCE A level Math.

I focus on guiding independent thinking, allowing the student to work through the problem with their own frame of thought. I do not believe in rote repetition and giving excessive amounts of homework. Instead, students will be given novel problems to test their critical thinking skills.
I also teach test taking techniques. Eg method checking, technical shortcuts and time management.
Lessons are 1.5 or 2 hours, depending on student's ability.
