About Samantha
I have always been extremely passionate about furthering my own education as well as that of others. In the years before I began my studies at the University of Chicago and NYU, I started an organization that focused on tutoring K-12 students in underprivileged school districts, privately tutored students in various academic areas, and mentored younger children having trouble with traditional learning methods. The various job/volunteer positions that I have held over the past eight years have shaped me into a creative problem solver and someone who you can count on to help!

I have experience in tutoring K-12 math, English, science, history, French, psychology, and SAT/PSAT/SSAT/ACT test prep. I typically begin a tutoring experience by spending the first session discussing with the student (and parent, if applicable) the goals of our meetings, as well as going over any relevant coursework. I then plan our lessons as well as brief "homework" assignments to help the student practice between sessions. During each meeting, we will spend time going over assignments, essays, practice questions, and review material to ensure classroom & test readiness. My primary objective is to support each student in a collaborative, understanding, patient way. Learning presents different challenges for different people, and it is my job to tailor the tutoring experience to fit your needs!
