Hello, My name is Taylor and I graduated from UBC in April 2021 with a specialization in biology. I was also temporarily certified with OCT in July 2022 while I complete my B.Ed. program at Ontario Tech University. I have been teaching public school and high school students for the last 3 years! I can also help first and second-year university students in science and I look forward to teaching effective and strategic studying skills to all of my students and helping them to excel in their subjects. I will be hosting my lessons over Zoom using the screen share and whiteboard function. I have a tablet to write on the screen - this makes our lessons very effective! My teaching structure is always different for each student. The reason for this is because I know that everyone learns differently and requires different methods of explanation. I personally feel, and have been told by others, that I am exceptional at listening and allowing others time to explain themselves. I also have unconditional patience and promise to use this when working with my students. My motto: There are NO silly questions and your confidence and understanding are my first priority. I have been a tutor for over 3 years now and have taught upwards of 30 students! My rate is $35/hour - I also offer a free 30 min of just getting to know one another (i.e., who I am and what I can do to help you, your learning style, and things we have in common!). The first real teaching lesson will be $35/hour however if you are unhappy with my service- it will be free. All students that I have mentored felt more confident in their understanding after receiving my guidance. Most of all, they did exceptionally well on their assignments/quizzes. A couple of my students even moved their grade from a fail to a pass within only a couple of sessions with me! This is the kind of service I plan to give you!

Perfect! Taylor is amazing. After receiving lessons from her, my mark went up by nearly 20%, and my confidence with the material really improved. She's patient, honest, knowledgeable, and overall everything you'd want to see in a tutor. If you're struggling with any genetics courses, I'd definitely book lessons with her!
Perfect! Taylor is Uber professional, knowledgeable, explains things in detail and in a variety of ways, not condescending, empathetic, kind, and patient. Her services are worth far more then what she’s charging, and I just wish I found her sooner because I could have avoided a lot of stress and tears from trying to figure out Biology on my own (especially with Covid, and the new normal!).

As a teacher myself, I really appreciated how Taylor was able to quickly connect positively with my Gr 11 daughter when she was struggling and help her reach her potential. Taylor takes the time to really listen to students and figure out a path forward. She has a thorough knowledge of the material and can clearly explain so that students understand. I offer a $35/hour rate. I also offer 30 min free so that my student and I can get to know one another. We will talk about what I can offer and how I can help you as well as just getting to know you and your interests! Once we start tutoring, my rate applies, however, if you are unsatisfied with my services, our session is free!
