About Kamden
Hi! My name is Kamden. I am an OCT certified primary and junior teacher. Teaching is my passion and I love helping to shape young minds. I enjoy working one-on-one with students and experiencing 'light-bulb' moments alongside them. In my free time I love to sing and play music, read, create art, travel, and spend time with my pets. I provide fun, engaging, and hands-on lessons to primary and junior students. I assess what students know and what they need extra support with, then tailor my lessons to bridge those gaps. I provide one-on-one student-centered support and practice, offering multiple ways to explain and complete tasks to spark understanding.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous learning and any questions the student may have. Next, I introduce the day's objective and explain new concepts using examples that match the student's interests and level of understanding. We then work through guided practice together before moving into independent practice to reinforce learning. I finish each lesson with a short review, reflection, and goal-setting activity so students leave knowing what they have accomplished and what they will focus on next.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my professional training as an Ontario Certified Teacher and my classroom experience teaching Kindergarten through Grade 6. I have worked with students from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including multilingual learners and students requiring differentiated instruction. I create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and celebrating their progress. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students become confident, independent learners who enjoy learning.
