About Leisha
I'm an Ontario Certified Teacher (since 2011) and a member of TESL Ontario. I have a BA, an MA in English Language and Literature, and a BEd. With post-secondary teaching experience and experience in academic support (Writing Consultant), I'm comfortable aiding with all aspects of academic writing and communication. I can also provide English grammar instruction. Additionally, I have a certificate in Learning Disabilities: Learning Strategist, so I can also help with areas such as organization, test prep, note-taking, and time management Put my ample experience in teaching and in academic support to work for you and contact me today.

A first class with me would be spent getting to know you: your strengths, your areas of need, and your goals for tutoring. From there, I would tailor a tutoring program that would help you meet those goals. As a tutor/teacher, I like to explain concepts in multiple ways to ensure understanding. I then have students engage in practice activities with the aim of independence.
When it comes to working with students on academic writing, I provide instructional editing. My goal is to help you improve as a writer, not to simply fix all your errors. If you would like feedback on a paper you've written, I can do this, but please be aware that I will teach you about your errors so that, eventually, you learn to no longer make them.
I can work with students in college and university in a wide range of subjects. If you have a written assignment, I can probably help.
