My approach focuses on clarity, structure, and argument, because those are the three things professors and teachers consistently grade for.
Rather than rewriting a student’s work, I teach them how to think through an essay:
How to build a strong thesis that actually answers the question
How to structure paragraphs logically
How to support claims with evidence and explanation
How to write clearly, concisely, and confidently
I use a guided, interactive method: we talk through ideas, outline together, and revise strategically so the student understands why changes improve the paper. The goal is independence, not dependency.
