About Reka
I am a Cambridge qualified (TEFL / TESOL specialisation English for adults) teacher and a near-native speaker. I have been teaching English, one-to-one classes and courses at a community college at various levels, for over 10 years. I enjoy working with adults learning English for hobby or work, high school, college and university students, people looking to emigrate or need an exam (experience, with 90% pass rate, for Cambridge Advanced, Cambridge First, IELTS) .

Many people find learning a new language difficult and anxiety-inducing, but you can do your best if you are having fun and are motivated. That is why I find involvement, flexibility, enthusiasm and empathy in a teacher important. My classes are always tailor-made, and I provide all online and offline materials. By first doing an intake interview (free of charge and without obligation) and an extensive level test I can make a good plan for every student. We work on your goals, discuss the frequency (it can be once a month or several lessons a week) and what goals are most important together, so that learning English remains efficient, pleasant and fits well into your life.

Reka vindt het niet erg om alles 100 keer uit te leggen en kijkt daar ook niet raar van op. Naast het feit dat zij heel goed kan lesgeven, heeft ze ook goede supplementen zoals boeken waar je ook nog mee kan leren!
Ik heb een aantal jaar geleden een Cambridge (FCE) cursus gevolgd bij de Vloksuniversiteit, met ook de bedoeling om het bijbehorende examen af te leggen. Reka was toen mijn docente. Ik vond toen zelf de cursus wat te makkelijk, maar een niveau hoger werd toen niet gegeven. Reka gaf aan dat ik ook makkelijk een niveau hoger kon doen qua examen (CAE). Vanaf toen heeft zij mijn werk nagekeken volgens de richtlijnen voor het CAE en boeken aan mij uitgeleend die ik hiervoor nodig had. Ik vond het erg fijn dat zij mij les kon geven op mijn eigen niveau. Ze legt de leerstof rustig uit, met herhaling wat nodig. Ze kijkt echt wat een student nodig heeft en past haar leerplan daarop aan. En het eindresultaat mocht er ook echt zijn, ik scoorde hoge punten binnen het CAE examen.
