It's time to beat your friends at chess!
We will start by talking through the mechanics of the game:
How do the pieces move?
What are the goals and fundamental strategies?
After understanding the basics, we will explore basic openings with black and white.
We will also analyze famous games from previous world championships and solve tactical problems later on.
We will then study the middlegame and endgame strategies.
You will have access to my large chess library consisting of more than 500 books on chess!

I have specialised in teaching children and teenagers. I train children for the Junior Chess Championships in the UK.

The lesson will be delivered using Lichess’ online learning tools and our progress will be saved online for future study. I will be using Zoom during the lesson.

If you are new to chess, beginner or intermediate and wishing to learn more, send me a message!

  • When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I have started practicing at the age of nine. I remember that there was a chess tournament in my school. And I was really excited by the whole atmosphere. Then I went to the chess room and asked Mr. Mehmet Özkeçeli to teach me chess. Since that day, I am motivated to play and learn about chess. Sadly, Mr. Özkeçeli had passed away last year, but I am hoping to continue his heritage.
  • Which artists or works affect you the most?

Among many professional chess players I am mostly fascinated by the games of Tal, Botvinnik and Kasparov.
  • 3) What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?

I believe patience and hard work are the most important qualities to be successful in Chess. Soon as I see where that Chess has not learned overnight however with frequent practice and guidance of a professional there is nearly no limit to how much you can improve.
  • What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Focus on why you have started and build up on that.
  • How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

great chess player once said: it's not enough to study Chess, you must also think of it.
  • What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

Winning the gold medal at the British universities' chess championship and playing for my university.
  • Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

I'm often times surprised by how talented most people are. Their talent just needs to be uncovered by a patient tutor. Students often times get quite surprised but how quickly they can improve.
  • Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

I don't think there is a secret to become a super prof. It's only about being genuinely interested in what you're teaching and knowing that even when your a teacher you can keep learning.
