About Sheila
I'm an online English tutor with 19 years' experience.
I started tutoring as an alternative educator while I was homeschooling my children.
I have a degree in creative writing and English literature. My hobbies involve the noble art of wordsmithing: reading (I'm bit of a literary snob, I confess) and writing. To me, there is still nothing better than a perfectly-written sentence.

I believe in student-led learning: we will focus on what you need to learn (or want to learn!), and we'll leave out the unnecessary stuff. Together, we'll design classes that work for you and help you achieve your goals--whatever they may be.
I teach reading and writing skills (creative and essay), literary analysis and critical thinking. I've also helped students with test prep (TOEFL, IELTS, SSAT, SAT), college applications and personal statements, and job applications. I've worked with students of all ages (6-82) but my forte is high school and university.
