I’m a passionate and approachable tutor specialising in GCSE Maths, Chemistry, and Biology. I believe that every student can succeed with the right support, and I work hard to make each lesson engaging, structured, and tailored to their individual needs. I focus not just on helping students master the curriculum, but also on showing them how to apply book knowledge to real-life situations. I aim to provide structured, engaging, and personalised tutoring tailored to each student’s needs. My method is designed not only to build subject knowledge but also to strengthen exam technique and confidence. 1 Initial Assessment – I begin by understanding the student’s needs, expectations, strengths, weaknesses, exam board requirements, and current working grades. 2 Goal-Setting & Timeline – If a specific goal or upcoming exam is the focus, I create a clear timeline to track progress and ensure steady improvement. 3 Lesson Structure – Each session typically runs for 1 hour (with an extra 30 minutes recommended for deeper practice). Lessons follow this structure: ◦ Warm-up Quiz (5–10 minutes): A short recap to reinforce previous learning. ◦ Learning Focus: Clear explanation and interactive teaching of the topic. ◦ Exam Practice: Working through past-paper or exam-style questions to apply knowledge. ◦ Homework Review: Checking any assigned work, or setting targeted homework if none was given. ◦ Student Questions: Time for the student to clarify doubts or ask questions. 4 Homework & Feedback – I set personalised tasks to consolidate learning and provide feedback to guide improvement. With 4 years’ experience as a Teaching Assistant and 1 year as a private tutor, I have developed a patient and adaptable teaching style that suits a range of learning abilities. My goal is to help students feel confident, prepared, and motivated in their studies.
